The biggest Ikea store in the Gulf region construction works from the Pile cap to final completion including the Testing and commissioning carried out by Kooheji Contractors. The store, located in Salmabad, will have a total retail area of 37,000 sq m and an investment of BD47 million ($124.76 million). It will provide more than 600 jobs, said Saud Ghassan Al Sulaiman, the chief executive officer of Ikea Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
The store is being opened in partnership with Saudi Arabia’s Ghassan Ahmed Al Sulaiman Furniture Trading Company, Ikea Saudi Arabia. This Project involved 35,000 cubic meters of cast in place concrete, 48,500M2 Precast elements and 3000 tons of steel erection in 72 weeks. Kooheji Contractor had to employ manpower of 1200 well trained crews working 2 shifts to achieve the milestone. When completed in 2018.
